Outreach

Monday Morning Food Pantry

Our Monday Morning outreach program serves our local community through food distribution. Most of all this ministry allows caring hearts in dealing with those less fortunate. We believe that in providing assistance to those in need we can truly “do unto others” as Jesus taught us.

Outreach Hours

Mondays

9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (except on holidays)

Outreach will help you with groceries every six weeks.

Disaster Relief

St. John’s has a disaster relief trailer. Parishioners have and will use this trailer and equipment to help out in times of hurricanes, tornados or other types of natural disasters. If you would like to sign up to be a part of this team please contact our church office at 228-762-1705.

Backpack Buddies

St. John’s participates in the Backpack Buddies program for the City of Pascagoula. This program provides meals for school children on the weekend whose parents do not have the financial ability to provide these meals. A second collection is taken up on the third Sunday of each month to help support this ministry. Also, parishioners from St. John’s help purchase and collect the food that is used for this ministry.

Honduras Medical Mission

This medical mission was begun in 1982 by the late Dr. Robert L. Donald, Jr., a parishioner of St. John’s. Many of the doctors and nurses from St. John’s were the first to make the mission trips. Over the years other parishes in the diocese have sponsored this extraordinary ministry. In 2020 and 2021 St. John’s is again one of the sponsoring parishes along with St. John’s in Ocean Springs and St. Mark’s in Gulfport.

If you would like to be considered to be on staff for one of these mission trips, please visit:
